Join us November 17 at Tsunami Sushi and Lounge for light hors d’oeuvres, a raffle, a cash bar, and to support The Wanda Alston Foundation’s mission to help LGBTQ homeless and at-risk youth.
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force analysis of available research suggests that between 20 to 40% of all homeless youth identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT).
As fall fades into winter, the cold weather makes life difficult for those with no place to call home. Join us in creating a new 24/7 safe space for homeless or at-risk youth.
There are more than 1,600 homeless youth in DC. Using the national average, up to 640 of these youth may identify as LGBT over the course of a year. This number far exceeds the 300 beds reserved for homeless youth in DC.
Check back soon for our upcoming events.
The Wanda Alston Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that LGBTQ youth have access to services that improve their overall quality of life.
Our services, which include transitional housing and capacity building assistance, strive to make the world a better place for homeless LGBTQ youth.
Your donation will help us continue our work to change the lives of LGBTQ homeless and at-risk youth for the better.
