This Holiday season, help queer & trans youth unbox joy, love and belonging!

The holidays can be a complicated time for LGBTQ+ young people, especially those who have experienced family rejection, homelessness, or isolation. Unboxing Queer Joy is the Wanda Alston Foundation’s holiday campaign to bring joy and belonging to youth at our transitional housing program.
Three Ways to Unbox Queer Joy
1. Give: Make a Donation
Your generous donation will help us purchase holiday gifts for our 20 LGBTQ+ residents and support our life-saving services year-round. Every donation will be matched up to $5,000 by the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation!

2. Gift: Purchase a Wish-List Item
Our holiday wish list includes what our young people actually asked for, including perfumes, a wig, stainless steel pans, gift cards, and more! Every item will be directly gifted to our residents, and confirmation receipts will be provided.

3. Greet: Send a Card of Love & Encouragement
To tackle the loneliness, we’re collecting handwritten holiday cards. Your words of hope can be the difference between feeling forgotten and feeling fiercely loved.

Instructions: Send or drop off cards at our HQ Office, Mon-Fri between 12pm-6pm & Sat from 11am-3pm. Deadline: Monday, Dec 22nd. For questions, email contactus@wandaalstonfoundation.org.
