The Good Provider Feature
Metro Weekly profiled Cesar Toledo, the 33-year-old executive director bringing new energy and focus to the Wanda Alston Foundation, D.C.’s housing program for LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness.
A first-generation Mexican-American raised in a working-class California family, Toledo has spent his life breaking barriers — from serving in the Peace Corps in Uganda to running national political engagement for the Harris campaign. Now, he’s channeling that drive into transforming how the foundation supports the city’s most vulnerable queer youth.
“I refuse to allow the opposition to take my joy,” says Toledo, whose story is one of a leader redefining what it means to serve the LGBTQ community with purpose and heart.
